Pamela W. Jordan Research Associate Learning Research & Development Center University of Pittsburgh I received a PhD in Intelligent Systems from the University of Pittsburgh and an MS in Computational Linguistics from Carnegie Mellon University. During my time at the Learning Reseearch and Development Center I have developed and tested four major dialogue-based learning systems in laboratory and classroom settings. My current research focus is on adapting content according to user needs with an emphasis on adapting the content presented during tutorial dialogue to match a student's level of mastery. In the distant past, I served on the SIGdial board. If elected, I would continue the efforts that the SIGGEN board has already started to improve the visibility of NLG research. This includes strengthening our collaborations with SIGdial, with whom we successfully shared joint sessions and activities during our 2014 conferences, encouraging workshops that highlight NLG research issues at conferences held by other ACL SIGs, societies and research communities, and encouraging improved resources on our website for those interested in getting started in NLG.
