Abstract

I will talk about what I have seen and experienced in the Industry for the last 46 years, how the computer industry and the use of the computer has changed over time, and what caused the changes.

I have been in the Computer Industry for 46 years as a professional, working as a Programmer, Electrical Engineer, Designer, Microcode Programmer, Architect, System Analyst, Manager/Project Leader and Technologist. Working at Bell Labs, NCR, DEC, Applicon, and GE has shown me the good, the bad and the ugly of the Computer Industry.
