One of the tenets of Computer Science (and engineering) is the astounding fact that some developers are 10x more productive than others. I have met those people, and often, they are us. Even more often, those people are not 10x better at *writing code*. In fact, many of the magnitude 10 productive programmers I have met are actually horrible code writers. What they excel at is simplifying problems, grabbing existing code, and integrating exising projects.
